The new Dehler 44 was recently launched at the Ijmuden Boat Show and after a succesful first show, she was ready to be sailed over in time for the Southampton Boat Show. Paragon Yachting have worked closely with Dehler for some time, and were the natural choice to provide Dehler with a skipper for the delivery.
Paragon Yachting's Director Will Page took on this responsibility and flew to Ijmuden on the last Sunday of the boat show. After initial sea trials with representatives from Dehler International and UK, North Sails Holland and Hamble's very own Steve Lemon, the boat left on the Monday afternoon.
Unfortunately due to very light winds, the delivery sail turned into a delivery motor, but with 8kts of breeze around Beachy Head, the boat managed to put in an impressive 6.9kts upwind in these very light winds.
Will commented yesterday, 'We are sure that Dehler have come up with a winning design here that should not only do well round the race track, but is an elegant, fast cruiser and we we wish Dehler every success with this innovative design.'
