Paragon Yachting’s experienced team provide an excellent maintenance and refit service. We can offer this as a one off project or as part of an ongoing management scheme.
At the start of any refit project we discuss with the owner any problems and areas of concern that may need particular attention. We also like to establish a history of previous work completed on the yacht.
Examples of work that may be completed in a refit project are detailed below;
Preparation
- An initial inspection is made to familiarise ourselves with the yacht, after which we put together a jobs list of known work to be completed.
- Before the yacht is taken out the water we fully prepare her in advance. This includes removing sails, masthead fittings, boom & disconnecting electrics.
- As Slingers & Banksmen we are qualified to oversee the yacht out of the water and organise the rig being taken out.
Under the waterline
- Pressure wash, rub down, prime and antifoul.
- Check the keel join, service the prop and check the rudder movement.
- Drop the rudder and check stock and bearings.
Topsides
- Remove any stubborn stains, compound and polish.
- Arrange for any scratches or gel damage to be repaired
- Re paint/tape the boot line
- Vinals & Graphics
Down Below
- Deep Clean, clean and paint the bilges (including treating any rust spots)
- Arrange for all sails to be taken off, serviced, laundered and stored.
- Service seacocks & heads
- Check all bilge pumps and alarms.
- Test all safety equipment and lights
- Arrange for Engine, Generator & water maker service.
- Check keel bolts and arrange for tanks to be pressure tested
- Check seals on hatches and windows
On Deck
- Service all hardware, Decks cleaned, Silver work polished
- Sheets and Halyards checked for any damage.
- Any safety equipment serviced
