Consultancy Paragon Yachting offers advice and support for clients looking to purchase a new or second hand yacht. Whether you are looking for a blue water cruising yacht or a high performance racing machine we can help.
- Access to a large database of yacht brokers
- We are available at boat shows to introduce you to agents and dealers and show you products you may not have considered.
- Accompaniment on test sails, pointing out pros and cons of different models.
- If you’ve just bought a new boat and need a helping hand finding your way around, after sales tuition is available. As most new owners tend to go up in size, we can also assist you in getting used to close quarter manoeuvring, sail plans (when to reef down, which head-sail to use etc) and getting confidence in parking those extra few feet!
- Upgrade and improvement advice. Typical questions we can help you answer…
Sails
- Which sails are best for my vessel and sailing environment? E.g. why go for expensive, high powered moulded sails when Dacron cross cuts will do?
- How many spinnakers do I need and what weight?
Hardware
- Which type of winch to use?
- Who’s making the best deck hardware these days?
- Which type of blocks should I use on my vang?
Electronics
- Navigation aids, electric charts should I use?
- Which autopilot is best for my vessel?
- How many repeaters should I have on deck?
Safety equipment
- How many and what sort of flares do I need?
- Which type of liferaft suits my purposes best?
- Do I need to carry an EPIRB?
MCA & RORC Coding If you bring your vessel up to MCA coding requirements and make it available for charter then you have the ability to make a return on your investment.
We can advise on safety & equipment requirements as well as supply parts to comply with these regulations. We are also able to ensure your vessel meets the stringent safety requirements set out by RORC for their offshore events and help you gain charters for your vessel.
